In The Land of Grey n Pink

Weekend getaways are always a great idea! If only I could do this on a weekly basis :-) I might not be planning a weekend getaway but I am indeed just about to fly out for a week's break and I cannot wait. I have an early flight to catch on Tuesday morning and last night all I could think about was packing and outfits!! I am almost there and the clock is ticking....

Here are some pieces that I have chosen for travelling in style. I love distressed boyfriend jeans and I like combining them with a fab pair of  flats. These Celine felt skates are simply stunning and in great demand at the moment. During the cold months, I cannot say no to a soft, cashmere jumper and this Stella McCartney one, embroidered with colourful stones looks so cute. The Sac de Jour tote by Saint Laurent is an absolute dream, don't you think?

Have an awesome Sunday!!

Black Orchid by Tom Ford

I love Tom Ford's fragrances and I am always fascinated by the beautiful Ad Campaigns that follow them. Have you tried Black Orchid? British model Cara Delevingne gets sensual for the fragrance's advertisement campaign, photographed by Mario Sorrenti.

With her hair slicked back off her face, minimal make up and dark nails, the model gazes seductively at the camera with a poker straight pout that gives maximum sex appeal.

The scent is described as having notes of black orchid and spice, making it glamorous yet provocative at the same time.

This is a nice gift that Santa could  drop down the chimney!

Have a great day!!

Guy Bourdin: Image Maker at the Somerset House

Guy Bourdin was a French fashion photographer known for his provovative fashion images. Somerset House hosts the UK's largest ever exhibition of his work, featuring over 100 works and previously unseen material from the photographer's estate, from 1955 10 1987.

Curated by Alistair O' Neill with Shelly Verthime, the exhibition will also include late works in black and white that serve to challenge Bourdin's reputation as a colour photographer. A highlight will be the "Walking Legs" series (I am a big fan of this!) - a campaign commissioned by Charles Jourdan in 1979.

Guy Bourdin: Image Maker is at the Somerset House from 27 November until 15 March 2015.

Have a great Sunday!

The Winter Is Coming...

The weather finally feels like autumn and it is definitely getting colder and colder. Next month we will welcome winter and Christmas. I can't wait! I am planning a little getaway to Greee at the beginning of next month simply because I need a break from work and other turbulances and I am looking forward to seeing my cute, little niece :-).
I am spending my Saturday morning enjoying some lovely tunes from Ledjam Radio and a nice, warm cup of coffee. Sadly lots of work is on the cards for me this weekend!

Have a great Saturday!

Essie's House of Colour in Harrods

I love the times that I am enjoying some precious me time and I am doing simple things that really please me, like treating myself to a manicure and a pedicure. I love taking care of my nails and I always choose my colour according to my mood (at the moment I am wearing Tiny Wine-ey by Essie, a bold and bright cherry red!).

My favourite nail polish brand is by far Essie and I was so excited to find out the other day that Essie has announced the opening of a House of Colour nail bar at the Urban Retreat located on the fifth floor in Harrods.

Launching later this month , the nail bar will operate on a walk-in basis (I love this idea!) and visitors can expect a full menu of services with prices starting at £15.

What is your favorite colour choice for the festive season? I always tend to go for Russian Roulette. Talking about risky business... ;-)

Have a fab day! Take care of yourselces cause no one else will.

Fancy Something Greek?

I have been meaning to visit The Life Goddess, a Greek cute Deli in the busy area of Bloomsbury for months now since a friend of mine brought me once a "koulouri" (a circular bread typically encrusted with sesame seeds - my ideal breakfast consists of strong Greek coffee and koulouri) and was telling me all about this place.

On a rainy Friday, I finally gathered two good friends of mine who willingy wanted to step foot to this Greek tasting experience. The people who welcomed us were friendly, attentive and hospitable like all of the Greeks are (no, I am not biased here by any means!!!). They showed us to our table and the food started coming our way. I opted for the Greek porcini risotto (I love rice!) and my friends tried the smoked aubergine. The table was set with mismatched, vintage like plates and flavors begun circling our cute little table fullfilling all our senses.

The Deli's logo is Amalthea
Porcini Risotto with Greek grated cheese

Double (I do not do single) Greek coffee and Galaktoboureko... In other words "Mmmmmm"...
If you give me coffee, I am a happy person :-) And since this is a double one, my happiness immediately doubles!

TLG operates both as a coffee shop with cute little tables on the outside and as a restaurant. The main area of the shop is the delicatessen area. More than 300 products are the basic ingredients for the breakfast, lunch and dinner served there. An ideal place to take all your non-Greek friends and see their reactions while tasting the Brioche cake from Terkenlis. Fun guaranteed!

Have a great day!! Eat well, love your friends and smile :-)

James Holdsworth at the Stephanie Hoppen Gallery

I have previously featured on my blog the Stephanie Hoppen Gallery on Walton Street as I quite often pass by it on my way to work and I am always fascinated by the Contemporary artists that the gallery exhibits. After the exquisite collection of oriental necks and plates by Christian de Laubadere, the gallery is presenting a collection of new works by James Holdsworth.
James Holdsworth graduated from Chelsea Arts School in the late '70s and became a dominant figure in the debate surrounding the reappraisal of punk and rock. I cannot help but absolutely love the cartoon characters he injects to his extraordiary paintings.

And as Elbert Hubbard wrote to his essay A Message to Garcia:

"Don't take life too seriously folks, you'll never get out of it alive".

Have an awesome Sunday!

Hanging On To My Hat...

The temperature in London is falling and it is getting colder and colder. The Oxford Street Christmas lights were turned on this week and the festive spirit is all around town. I love so much this time of year as long as it is not raining.

Lately, I have been walking to work and I enjoy it so much. I have always been a loyal walker and London town really invites you to do so unless you opt for the Boris bikes (too scared for this!). While getting ready for work, I wear my warmest coat,  I put on a hat (plus a smile which is more of a constant in my life) and  music is always playing on my iPhone. Speaking of hats, I got this lovely Christys' burgundy one at Harrods during last year's sale and I definitely need to go back for more this year.

Coat: M Missoni, Scarf: Balenciaga, Hat: Christys'
Christys' London is one of my favourite brands and I really admire their fine and noble history. The brand has been manufacturing fine hats in England since 1773 through eight generations of the Christy family and across nine reigns of British royals starting with King George III.

If you are a fan of hats check their online shop and tell me what you think. I hope next time, I will pick a black one as I really need one. The trouble with me is that I am a sucker for colour and I always opt for this :-)

Have a good night peeps and an amazing week!!

Sarah Chloe Jewellery

Personalized jewellery is one of my favourite things at the moment. Feels like I want to leave my stamp on everything that I am wearing. Also, this makes a great idea for a gift. It gives it a more personal and thoughtful touch, don't you agree?

I always look out for new designers and collections and as I was browsing the goop website today, I discovered Sarah Chloe's amazing jewellery colelctions. Here I have put together a small selection of Sarah's most popular pieces:

Have a great day everyone!! Wrap up well and get ready for the weekend :-)

Devendra Playsuit

I have a soft spot for lingerie and I can spend a ridiculous amount of money on lovely sets that are not even visible! I was browsing at the Agent Provocateur website this morning, checking their latest arrivals. The Devendra Playsuit from the Soiree collection really caught my eye and I would like to share the images with you.

The dangerously seductive Devendra playsuit is constructed in sensual stretch leather with panels of delicate lace and and a sexy halterneck strap. Fine rouleaux straps and chinoiserie style knotted buttons at the back tie up this look perfectly. What do you think of this look?

Have a great start to your day!!

Helen Does Not Like E-Books

I think I have pretty much established a few of the things that I really like and this becomes as clear as day because I keep repeating them on a regular basis: coffee, flowers, theatre, books (Ok the list is kind of endless plus I do have a hidden agenda, I am not revealing all!).

Talking of books, I love browsing and borrowing some from my local library but I also love buying my own books, placing them neatly on my window shelf and this way they can keep me company for good. Last week, I had the shock of my life while placing an order for a book that I have been meaning to buy for quite some time now. That is The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion (have you read it?).

Little Miss Clever, placed her order and only when it went through it dawned on her little head that she had ordered an e-book. Major disaster!! I do not do e-books, I hate kindle and all this new stuff. I am an old fashioned gal (in a lot of ways) and I like my book to have curves, I like flicking through the pages and taking in that smell (oh the smell!!!).

The crisis was quickly aborted of course, no biggie. I was so happy the other day to finally receive my curvy book through the post and I cannot wait to start reading it.

Here is how the story goes:

Love isn't an exact science - but no one told Don Tillman. A handsome 39 year old genetist, Don's never had a second date (blimey, at least I am doing better than Don). So, he devises the Wife Project, a scientific test to find the perfect partner. Enter Rosie - "the world's most incompatible woman" - throwing Don's safe, ordered life into chaos.

Something tells me that this is going to be such a fun read. Share your thoughts with me if you have read the book.

Have a great Sunday!!
