Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. Today London is experiencing a bit of an Indian Summer and I could not be happier. I have some early dinner plans later on and I am glad that I will wear something light and I will be out of my door without having to carry an umbrella for a change ;-)

Is anyone dressing up today? If so, have a blast!!

Happy Halloween!

Louis Vuitton Personalised Service

It was a few weeks ago that I stole a few minutes out of my busy time and visited the Louis Vuitton boutique at Harrods to have my Sarah Damier Ebene canvas wallet monogrammed with my Greek initials. This is one of my favorite boutiques in the store as I always receive exceptional service (and it is not because I am lovely - which I am by the way, the people who work there are really great!).

Once the question came down to which color I will choose for my initials how could I not choose green? Sometimes I am a bit excessive with the color I have to admit. A few weeks ago, I was walking down Kings Road on my way to Saatchi Gallery and I was spotted carrying a green bag, wearing a green coat and my "I will be there for you" green pair of glasses. Ooops!

Someone stopped me on the street saying: "You really love green, don't you?".
This is such an understatement my friend!

Have a great day everyone!

The weekend is coming and Halloween is around the corner! I hope you all have great plans and enjoy yourselves!

Burberry 121 Regent Street

Burberry's largest ever London store stands proudly on 121 Regent Street and until a few weeks ago I had never been there (believe it or not!). It was on a Friday that I met up with my friend Manveen for brunch at the Breakfast Club in Soho and once we finished our delicous food we headed to Regent Street for a little bit of harmless window shopping.

The impressive 44,000 square-foot space is divided into rooms that mirror sections from its online counterpart.  Housed in a Grade II listed building, originally created in 1820, the store isn't any ordinary shopping experience. Customers are treated to sporadic Burberry weather moments, when digital rain showers - accompanied by the sounds of a thunderstorm, created using a sophisticated sound system. How impressive is that?

Take a look at the photos below and I hope this motivates you to visit the iconic store soon!

All Saints Mid-Season Sale

It is the time of the year that a lot of shops are having a mid - season sale and this is always good news to me. However, I cannot wait for the much anticipated winter sale at Harrods, which is kicking off as always on Boxing Day. In the meantime, a mid - season sale can be our warm - up, right? ;-)
All Saints is offering 40% off on its current collections and I could not resist temptation (I am a very weak human being, I have the guts to admit this!). A few days ago I was browsing at the Women's Fashion Lab on the fourth floor at Harrods and I decided to try something on from All Saints. A few months ago I met a buyer from the brand and I remember when I was complaining to him that these clothes are so not for me as they seem to be designed for tall, slender bodies (I clearly do not fall into this body category, I wish...!). Well, it was just my luck that I found a cute, little black dress this time around and snatched it at an amazing price!
Here I have included a few of my favourite pieces that are worth checking:

Theatre Tonight?

It is not a secret that I am a huge theatre junkie. I love going to the theatre anytime, any day and sometimes even after work as it helps me relax and empty my mind from any work related thoughts and simply fill it with the messages and reflections that each play has to offer.

As I am not much of a cinema lover (although I love watching TV series on Netflix), my visits to the theatre land aka the West End are quite repetitive. I am not a big fan of major productions as I prefer seeing more independent and low profile plays that have more to offer in my humble opinion.

Last week I visited the Playhouse Theatre and watched David Mamet’s "Speed-the-Plow" starring Lindsay Lohan, Richard Schiff and Nigel Lindsay. So much has been written about Lohan’s appearance in the West End and after initially receiving mixed reviews it seems that they play and Lindsay have found their rhythm. LL’s performance was fine and just a few days ago the fame playwright himself said how proud he was of her work and was openly praising her.

Set over three acts, Speed-the-Plow is a play about 2 Hollywood hot shots, Bobbie and Charlie, who are preparing to pitch a new script to a film company. However things go awry as discussion turns to bedding new employee, Karen.

The next play that I saw was "Once" The Musical at the Phoenix Theatre. A few months ago (last Easter if I remember correctly) I watched the movie and I really loved it. Once I heard the song "Falling slowly" that was it… it felt like love at first sight!!

A heart warming, hilarious and bittersweet love story (I am a sucker for these, can’t help it!) that celebrates the power of music is performed live on stage by an extraordinary cast of actors musicians. I fell for it in a hard way and I am not one who enjoys musicals much I have to admit….

My theatre week closed with the "Next Fall" by Geoffree Nauffts at Southwark Playhouse. This new American play portrays the ups and downs (there is no up without a down, right?) of Adam and Luke’s long term relationship and how they make it work despite all their differences. Luke is deeply religious and Adam is an atheist.

The Stage at the Southwark Playhouse
Next Fall opened in New York in 2009 to huge critical acclaim before transferring to the Helen Hayes on Broadway in 2010, where it was produced by Sir Elton John and David Furnish.

Feel free to share with me any plays that you have recently seen and would recommend.

Have a great day!!

Alexander Wang for H&M

November brings exciting news for all fashion lovers! Another H&M collaboration is hitting the stores on the 6th like a hurricane! Alexander Wang following in the footsteps of Marni, Isabel Marant, Versace, Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld, is the latest designer collaborator for H&M.

We might need to wait a couple of weeks more until the most anticipated designer/high-street collaboration of the year launches in stores, but this does not mean that we cannot have a glimpse as the collection is finally unveiled.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the lookbook. The women's collection includes over 35 garmets of athletic performance wear, essentials, outwear and accessories, mainly all embossed with the designer's initials.

 Have a great day!!

Saturday Morning Jumped Out of Bed *

I love waking up on a Saturday where the office is no longer missing me and I have the hours ahead of me to do what I please. On a nice day there is nothing that I love more than taking long strolls and discovering open markets, picking up fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers for my room.

Last Saturday, after an enjoyable night out and after having too little sleep (but that is me, I like waking up early) I headed to Parsons Green. The weather was not too bad and there were a few sun rays scattered around. This always gives you a new perspective.

Autumn leaves...

Can you smell the freshness?

Ready for Halloween?
I already had a coffee at home but I never say no to a warm cappuccino from Jak's as it feels so much like home. Leather sofas (I have a soft spot for leather lately), big cushions, old fashioned multi coloured rugs, an old fireplace, stacks of books and my kinda music (they were playing all of my favorite Elvis tunes last Saturday!).

Cappuccino with always chocolate on top...
Guilty as charged! I love Jak's too... ;-)
Have a great day! I wish it was Saturday...

P.S. * The lyrics of the song "Rude" by Magic inspired today's post title ;-)

Quotes by Rumi

Last night I was watching the film "Diana" (not a great one!) and what I will remember the most from this movie is the wonderful quote by Poet Rumi which is left on a note by Dr H. Khan during the final scene in front of Kensington Gardens Palace.

"Somewhere beyond right and wrong there is a garden. I will meet you there"

I was deeply moved by this quote (as personal memories and stories deluged my mind) and I wanted to read some more. I then started doing a little bit of research, while listening to some magical classics by J S Bach. Here I have put together a few more quotes by the Persian Poet that are such an inspiration:

The wound is the place where the Light enters you

Don't grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form

Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder

Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames

Be melting snow. Wash yourself from yourself

Without the frown of clouds and lighting, the vines would be burned by the smiling sun

My heart is so small, it's almost invisible
How can You place such big sorrows in it?
"Look", He answered
"Your eyes are even smaller,
yet they behold the world"

And a last one...

Have a great Sunday!!

Stephanie Hoppen Gallery

Yesterday as soon as I woke up (and after I had my morning coffee as otherwise I find it hard to function), I checked the weather and it seemed it was going to be a lovely morning. Then I thought to myself: "Let's hit the streets with these worn out shoes of mine and my pretty energetic legs and get to work on foot". And this thought turned into reality as quickly as it was formed.

As I was walking on Walton Street (every time I pass this street and I am in front of Jak's cafe I wish I could stay for a coffee and a cake rather than having to swipe in at work!). At number 17 stands the beautiful Stephanie Hoppen Gallery where the finest contemporary art finds its home. I always stand and have a look everytime I am passing the gallery.

The current exhibition  is  a collection of new works, including pictures of oriental necks and plates, by French artist Christian de Laubadere. The exhibition will be running until the 1st November.
