Moss and Galliano Reunited: Inside December's Vogue

December is coming one month earlier with Vogue's new issue (I still haven't finished reading the previous one - I am such a slow reader lately). The weather is getting colder, Christmas trees are seen everywhere and I am getting the festive vibe that really helps the mood. Kate Moss marks her 34th cover for the magazine and in the image for December's issue she wears a feather cape with a pearl encrusted collar from Alexander McQueen photographed by Tim Walker.

In this issue, designers play the first role and we witness John Galliano's creative comeback as guest fashion editor for a marvelous photo shoot with his long-time friend, supermodel Kate Moss. Other designers are featured in the issue such as Isabel Marant, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler, J W Anderson and many more.

I can't wait to get my hands on the new issue. Have a great day!

Claire Danes in British Vogue November 2013

Claire Danes from "Homeland" is Vogue's November cover girl. The "Romeo and Juliet" actress, who has won a few awards for her role as Carrie Mathison in the popular show (I better start watching it - everybody talks about it!) is photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg wearing a Louis Vuitton tweed coat and sweater dress on the cover.

Happy reading!

Christmas Parade at Harrods

It is less than two months before Christmas and Harrods is already getting in the mood. The first Christmas trees and decorations have shown their face throughout the store (The Christmas world has been up and running since July) and the Christmas parade is taking place next Saturday 2nd November (who is going to be there?). Whether you are a small or a big kid you can book your tickets for the Harrods Christmas Grotto and start the festive season making special memories that you will remember forever. Simple things like that put a smile on everyone's face and that is why I love Christmas!

Start making your Christmas wish list and feel excited! Have a lovely Sunday.

Weekend Reading

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. I am getting ready for my morning run in the park and I have a new book that I am hoping to start reading this weekend. It was given to me by a friend and it combines two of the things I love a lot: fashion and shoes!!

So, if I am not in the mood for a chick flick this weekend I can read "I am a Shoe ....And You?" by Fidan Bagirova

Have a great day!

Friday's Breakfast

It is Friday today and I thought of posting something super sweet to prepare us for the weekend. I am enjoying my breakfast this morning but I wish I had some macaroons (pistachio are my favorite ones) on the side but Laduree is a bit far. However, I will share with you some pictures from Laduree at Harrods that I took a couple of days ago on my day to work.

I loved the color theme on the displays
And due to lack of macaroons this morning I prepared some tasty french pastries to go along with my Kusmi tea (my friend's treat) in my favorite Aston Martin mug.

Have a great day and a fantastic weekend!

Dennis Basso Collection at Harrods

I had an amazing opportunity yesterday to attend a private viewing of Dennis Basso's latest collection and I was in awe of the beautiful designs, including "darling" dresses and fabulous furs. Designer to the starts, Dennis Basso is one of  America's premier couture fur designers and it was such an honor to meet him. The American designer celebrates 30 years in the fashion industry and if you would like to see his creations in the flesh, do not miss the chance of visiting the Dennis Basso Boutique at Harrods. All you fashion fans are in for a treat!

Two stunning models presented the designer's creations and the atmosphere got something of a fashion show!

I loved these shorts with the sheer top

Sweet hugs with the fury teddy bear made exclusively for Harrods
I loved this hat!!
Dennis Basso has also launched his very first fragrance simply named after him. The fragrance is ideal for day and night, consisting of fresh citruses in the top, the heart of white flowers and woody - musky notes in the base.

The bottle is round, modern, luxurious and covered in fake fur on the sides.

Have a lovely day!

Carpe diem

For the last few days I was meaning to engrave something on my latest MV bracelet and I was brainstorming of what exactly. I ended up choosing a beautiful phrase that comes from the last line of a Latin poem by Horatius Flaccus, more widely known as Horace. The poem is in Horace's Odes Book 1, number 11.

The saying is: "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero".

The phrase is translated as "Seize the day, trusting as little as possible in the future". Who knows what the future brings anyway? So, seize your day today and have fun!

Chinese & Japanese Art at the V & A

I was walking along Cromwell Road on Friday afternoon, on my way to Imperial College for a freshers party and I could not resist popping in the Victoria & Albert Museum to explore an exhibition even for a few minutes.

As I walked in I was taken by the beautiful collections of Chinese and Japanese art which were displayed on the ground floor on the right side of the main entrance. Textiles, ceramics, prints, metal work, carvings and furniture were among the items displayed and I did not miss the chance of taking some pictures.

I also had a look around the museum's shop (I especially love the jewelry at the museums' shops - they are so unique) and I will share these photos on a future post. After my mini tour in the V&A the time was calling for a drink and I picked up on that.

After wandering around the area I finally found my way to the college and met up with my flatmate. I had a drink there and we ended up at Gloucester Arms in South Kensington for some more drinks and flaming Sambuca shots!! This was the first time I was trying Sambuca and it was pretty damn good!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
