A Rainy Solo Day in London: Slow Morning, Library Haul, and a Cozy Dinner ☁️
There is something so deeply comforting about waking up to the sound of rain tapping against the window. When the weather outside is gray and dreary, all I want to do is stay in and take things at a slow, gentle pace.
In the latest instalment of my introvert diaries series, I am taking you along on a deeply peaceful, realistic solo day. With the apartment all to myself, I embraced the quiet and focused on the simple routines that make me feel grounded.
A Slow, Comforting Start
The morning began exactly how all good mornings should: with a hot cup of coffee. For breakfast, I kept it simple but delicious, warming up a few slices of seeded sourdough (picked up from Ole&Steen) and topping them generously with butter and cheese. There’s no better way to ease into a rainy day.
A Walk to the Local Library
Even on a slow day, I love to get a little bit of fresh air. I bundled up and took a 30-minute walk through the neighborhood to my local library. I absolutely love the slightly dusty, nostalgic smell of the library aisles. I spent a good amount of time browsing and ended up bringing home four new books to get me through the spring season:
Animal Farm by George Orwell
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
Katalin Street by Magda Szabó
Never Flinch by Stephen King
Setting Intentions and a Dinner for One
Back at the apartment, I made a cup of tea and finally sat down to write out my intentions for the new month before diving into one of my new library books.
To wrap up the evening, I made a simple homemade dinner. I firmly believe in romanticizing solo evenings, so I set the mood by lighting some candles and enjoyed my meal while starting a brand-new TV series.
If you are in need of a little calm today, grab your favorite drink, get cozy, and spend a peaceful, rainy day with me.
