Slow Living in Athens: A Winter Diary
There is something deeply grounding about Athens in January. While the rest of the world seems to be rushing into the new year with frantic energy, the city itself encourages a different pace—one of slow mornings, cherished traditions, and the quiet warmth of being home.
In my latest vlog, I invite you to take a breath and spend a slow day with me as I navigate the unique beauty of a Greek winter.
The Warmth of Family and Tradition
The day began with the ultimate comfort: a cozy family lunch. There is no better way to ward off the January chill than with good food and a glass of red wine—specifically from Domain Skouras—shared with the people who matter most. It’s these simple moments of connection that form the heart of slow living.
Nights of Music and Michelin Star Dining
As the sun set, the day transitioned from quiet domesticity to the vibrant cultural life of the city. We spent an evening at Vox, letting the music set the tone for the night.
The following evening, we honored our yearly tradition of Michelin-star dining. Athens has an incredible culinary scene that manages to feel both sophisticated and soulful, and this meal was no exception. It wasn't just about the food; it was about the intention behind the evening—savoring every bite and every conversation.
Embracing the Season
Winter in Athens isn't about hiding from the cold; it's about finding the warmth and light in the everyday. Whether it’s a beautifully set table or a walk through the historic streets, there is beauty to be found when you stop rushing.
Thank you for joining me for this glimpse into my life. I hope it inspires you to find your own version of slow living this month.
