a sweet and slow afternoon at selfridges

There is a certain kind of magic that settles over London in the winter. the air is crisp, the sky is that perfect shade of dove grey, and the city feels hurried yet hushed all at once.

On these colder days, I find myself seeking out little pockets of warmth—sanctuaries where the world slows down for just a moment. my most recent escape led me to the iconic halls of Selfridges.

There is something so nostalgic about wandering through the food hall. It’s a sensory experience, a blend of tradition and modern indulgence. My destination? Chocofruit.

I was invited by their lovely team to experience a bit of their world, and it was exactly what the soul needed. I opted for their signature—fresh, vibrant strawberries draped in a rich, warm chocolate drizzle.

Watching the chocolate flow is almost meditative. it’s a small ritual of sweetness in the middle of a busy day. The contrast of the cold winter air outside and the velvet warmth of the Belgian chocolate… it’s a simple joy, but those are often the most profound.

The details:

  • location: chocofruit, selfridges food hall (oxford street)

  • my order: the signature milk chocolate strawberries, a dark chocolate waffle & a box of 6 chocolate coated strawberries.

  • the vibe: quiet indulgence, perfect for a mid-shopping pause.

If you find yourself in London this season, do yourself a favor and stop by. Take a breath, enjoy the drizzle, and let the city wait for a while.
