The Crucible at The Old Vic

The Old Vic has a special place in my heart. From the very first time I visited the theatre I fell in love and from now on I want to go and see as many good plays as possible.

Last week, I headed out to the theatre to see the wonderful Richard Armitage who ambitiously has taken up the role of John Proctor in Arthur Miller's classic American drama "The Crucible". South African Yael Farber directs this production of Miller's story of the 1692 Salem witch trials in Massachusetts. Set  in a small town, it follows the story of John Proctor, whose affair with  Abigail sets in motion a cycle of revenge and accusations of witchcraft that will tear apart the fragile community with deadly consequences.

The current run will play until 13th September

Richard Armitage has a wonderfully deep, rich voice that brings such authority to his character. He will have you hooked. I hope his voice holds up for the whole run. This is a play not to be missed!

Have a great week!!
