Jameel Prize 3 Exhibition at the V&A Museum

The Jameel Prize is an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic Tradition. Its aim is to explore the relationship between Islamic traditions of art, craft, design and contemporary work as part of a wider debate about Islamic culture and its role today.

The Jameel prize and the exhibition currently showing at the V & A Museum are in partnership with the Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives. The exhibition will be running until the 21st April 2014 and if you have a chance drop by the museum to take a look.

Dice Kayek, a Turkish fashion label, has won the £25,000 prize with a collection of garments that evoke Istanbul's architectural and artistic heritage.

    1. In some museums and for certain exhibitions it is not a problem. Of course, when there are artifacts involved you cannot use flash. However, there are other museums that do not allow photography at all (i.e. National Gallery). I am glad you enjoyed the works :)
