Hello everyone and welcome to my personal blog. Here you will find posts of the things that I truly love. Fashion news, books that I am reading, theatrical plays, places I visit and anything that puts a smile on my face. Thank you so much for visiting :)
Last night I was invited to Halcyon Gallery, for a private viewing of Lorenzo Quinn's new solo exhibition entitled Full Circle.
I had never followed the artist's work in the past and I have to say I was deeply moved by the stories behind each piece of art. The messages derived from every sculpture are so powerful and touching.
Hand of God
Quinn was born in Rome, Italy and is the son of the actor Anthony Quinn. His father had a profound influence on him, both in terms of living in the limelight of the film world and with respect to Anthony’s early work in painting and architecture.
The artist studied at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York,
planning to be a Surrealist painter.
However, at 21 he decided that his future lay in sculpture, which could better
accommodate his energy and originality. in his twenties Quinn had a brief acting career, including playing alongside his father in Stradivari (1989) and an acclaimed performance as Salvador Dali. However, he did not enjoy the profession and decided to concentrate purely on sculpture.
I hope you enjoyed the photos! For a more complete experience of the artist's work, skill and expertise visit Halcyon Gallery in the heart of Mayfair. Allow yourself to be taken in by the sculptures and work out the deep meaning of each piece while accessing the ability of drawing your own conclusions and interpretations.
